The Measurement of Rock Pressures Induced by Mineral Extraction
This paper describes the present approach of the Mines Branch to the problem of measuring the stress condition in the interior of rocks surrounding underground openings. An instrument, which will be referred to as a stressmeter, has been developed at the Mines Branch to measure undirectional stress changes in absolute units.
