Wet concentration has, in the history of ore dressing, been the primary treatment method following crushing, grinding and sizing, when these have been necessary. The evolution of new methods of gravity concentration has been comparatively slow. Today, the most significant and sophisticated of the new types of gravity concentrators is, no doubt, the cone concentrator developed by Ernst Reichert of Mineral Deposits Pty. Limited in Southport, Australia. These units have now had some years of use in the field, are becoming one of the standard tools of the industry and their metallurgical results, as outlined in this paper, are outstanding.
