A Multi-Technology Approach to Optimizing the Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) Circuit at the Haile Gold Mine

This paper describes the optimization of the Carbon in Leach (CIL) circuit using newer industry technologies to improve operational consistency at the Haile Gold Mine process plant. Implementation of these technologies has allowed for an increase in throughput and optimization of reagent addition with greater control, leading to an overall multi-circuit performance increase without impacting overall recovery. This paper summarizes the following: 1 - The as-built design of the CIL circuit; 2 - The various technologies implemented; 3 - The current impact of those technologies; and 4 - How we’ll use these technologies moving forward to implement further advanced control in the CIL circuit.
