The presentation provides background on BC Hydro’s operations and structure and outlines the importance of the mining sector in terms of electricity consumption and revenue provided to BC Hydro. Information is provided on BC Hydro rates and how they compare to other North American jurisdictions. Comparisons are also provided regarding the mix of electrical generation for BC Hydro compared to other jurisdictions and the associated GHG emissions from the electricity supplied in the province. Further information is provided regarding the Northwest Transmission line – an electricity line that was built primarily to serve future mines in the Northwest of the province.
