A microcomputer-controlled multi-probe K-40 monitoring system was developed internally for the Phase II mill at the Lanigan potash mine. The K-40 probes were mounted in a variety of positions in several process streams, ranging from dry ore on a conveyor belt to brines and slurries. A description will be presented of the objectives, the equipment and the difficulties encountered in correlating results.
