New technology is advancing the potential for autonomous vehicles in mining applications. This presentation will begin to demystify Functional Safety as it relates to autonomous vehicles. We will then introduce Cybersecurity concepts and the threat environment which manufacturers of connected and autonomous vehicles should be aware. We will then examine the role of cybersecurity in the overall context of Functional Safety, focusing on the hazards and risk reduction methods.
