Learning from other industries: How Cementation further developed its Serious Injury Prevention Program

Like many other mining companies, Cementation has developed a Serious Injury Prevention Program. Clough, an oil and gas company based in Australia and part of the Murray & Roberts group, also implemented a program called Major Accident Prevention (MAP) which focuses on similar prevention. The process for identification of hazards that may result in serious injuries was similar, but the Clough program also included a detailed implementation plan on a project by project basis which went beyond our own plan. This presentation will outline Cementation’s serious injury prevention program, Clough’s MAP program, and how we have integrated global best practices from other industries into our program.
