Operation of the Bicrof t Ion Exchange Circuit

. TH E milling plant of Bicroft Uranium Mines Limited at Bancroft, Ontario, was one of the first in Canada to employ ion exchange for the selective recovery of uranium from acid leach liquors. The ion exchange circuit started operating early in November, 1956, and by June l, 1959, had handled more than two million tons of pregnant solution containing 1,830,000 pounds of U3 O8. Each column had been saturated and eluted about 430 times.
