The Mineral lndustry of Nova Scotia- 1958

ALTHOUGH final statistics are not yet available concerning Nova Scotia' s mineral production for 1958, it is estimated that the value will be slightly lower than that of 1957. In making this statement it is but fair to say that one year ago a reduction in mineral value was also forecast (for 1957 as compared with 1956) and final figures from the Dominion Bureau of Statistics ($68,058,743) indicated, instead, an increase of $2,- 000,000 over 1.956. However, 1958 did bring problems to the industry which would indicate a drop in production value. The estimate figure for 1958 is $64,000,000.
