The versatility of a mobile hoist rope winder

INCO Limited purchased a custom designed mobile hoist rope winder/tensioner in 1988 from Timberland Equipment Limited to handle large hoist ropes and serve as an emergency hoist. This paper describes the operation of the winder/tensioner and some of the different applications that the machine has been used to handle large loads.
