The introduction consists of background information, of an historical and statistical nature, relating to the Thompson mine. The geological presentation is based on illustrations that are intended to provide a progressively closer look at the ore occurrence. The illustrations consist of an index map, a geological map of a 15- by 85-mile area including the Thompson mine, a series of four maps dealing with the geophysics and geology of a 6- by 4 1/4 -mile area at Thompson, a mine level plan and corresponding section, two sto11e plans and corresponding sections, and photographs and photomicrographs of the various one types.
