The mining industry has realized unprecedented growth in many aspects throughout the recent years. These explosive gains have also introduced new challenges and hurdles for the industry to overcome. With the advent of these new obstacles, suppliers and operators are collectively addressing their future by evaluating new technology, and in some cases, renewing historic tools.
One such proven methodology is the utilization of a trolley system for surface haulage applications. This presentation will briefly discuss the history of trolley applications, the key parameters that affect trolley feasibility, and then culminate with a general review of the feasibility of such an installation.
The feasibility analysis will consider the key variables that affect the economic viability of this technology and the impact of these variables to standard project justification metrics. Risk assessment is also inferred in the graphic illustration of the economic viability analyses.
