The energy situation is extremely fragile and there is a critical need for energy conservation in the short term and development of new technology in the long term. To keep tabs on energy flow, separate electrical metering is being installed in major industries. The first step reduces demand through peak load control; the second reduces the waste of energy by monitoring energy used per unit of production.
