Underground Gasification of Coal: Review of Progress

CIM Bulletin, 1949

A. IGNATIEFF

SOME interest is being shown in Canada in underground gasification of coal and, as developments have now taken place in several countries of the world, it is thought that a review of progress, particularly from the viewpoint of a mining engineer, may be of interest. The literature on the subject, and notably that of Russian origin, is already very voluminous (1).
