DURING the past half century, the economy of Western Canada was largely centred on agriculture. However, the impact of World War II has led to an acceleration in the development of a variety of natural resources so that, today, Western Canada is experiencing great industrial development. Consequently, the availability Of Lowcost energy assumes prime importance. In the final analysis, industrial growth and expansion a re intimately linked to the energy' resources.
