A Brief Look at Canada's Offshore

This paper defines the Canadian offshore areas, comparing the juridical continental shelf with the physical one. The question of jurisdiction and ownership is dealt with, and the setting out of resource administration lines to divide areas of federal and provincial administration is explained and illustrated. Offshore activity is reviewed and prospective areas for future work are mentioned.
