Abrasion-Resistant Alloys

This is a brief review of the composition and metallurgy of 15 per cent chromium - 3 per cent molybdenum martensitic white iron, 6 per cent manganese - 1 per cent molybdenum high-carbon austenitic steel, and nickel molybdenum acicular iron, followed by a description of the physical properties of these alloys with particular reference to their abrasion resisting characteristics and their application in the mining industry.
