The term "digital twin" has become a ubiquitous marketing buzzword slapped onto a wide variety of technology products being sold into the mining sector. But what is a "digital twin"? The essence of what we call a "digital twin" today has existed in various forms for a long time and it is critical that we make sure that we are actually understand the concept and get true value from it.
