The historical development of this program, dating from the construction of Nickel Park at Copper Cliff in 1917 to the various current projects carried out in the Ontario Division's program, is reviewed.Practices used to grow vegetation on stressed areas, the beneficial aspect of the improved aesthetic appearance of company properties from the point of view of public relations and the improved approach to the workplace by the employee are discussed. The revegetation of the tailings area and its gradual transformation into a Wildlife Management Area is reviewed.
