International standards for the reporting of Mineral Resources, Mineral
Reserves and Exploration Results have been developing at a rapid pace for
the past twenty years due to the globalization of the mining industry.
Standards for the valuation of Mineral Properties have followed a similar
course. This volume contains the current Canadian Reporting Standards for
Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves. These are the Canadian Institute of
Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) Definition Standards for Mineral
Resources and Mineral Reserves, the Canadian stock exchange requirements
for disclosure on mineral properties, the CIM Best Practices, and papers
describing industry practice. Canadian Valuation Standards, stock exchange
requirements, and papers describing industry best practice form the second
portion of the volume. Current international reporting standards for mineral
resources and reserves and valuation of mineral properties have also been
included in the respective section.
This book traces the changing ways in which research and development occurred in Canada's mining and metallurgy sector from the 1950s to the present day. The study is a collaborative project developed by Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation and the Historical Metallurgy Section of the Metallurgy & Materials Society (MetSoc).
Canadian Milling Practice is the fourth in a series of special volumes published by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) since 1957. Like its predecessors, the book is composed of submissions from metallurgists describing technical aspects of Canadian or Canadian company-owned mineral processing operations. These aspects include deposit geology and ore mineralogy, processing flowsheets, equipment types and specifications, key performance indicators, tailings management and processing costs. Mineral processing operations are detailed for commodities such as precious metals, iron ores, base metals, diamonds and industrial minerals. The book also presents Canadian laboratories providing services and conducting research for the mineral processing industry, as well as Canadian universities offering programs in the field of mineral processing.

The well-attended 2019 Annual Conference of Metallurgists hosted the 10th edition of the International Copper Conference Series, and the event was co-organized by MetSoc and 7 other international societies which ensured an incredibly global presence.
COM + Copper 2019 attracted more than 1,000 attendees, featured 311 oral presentations within nine symposia, and 55 posters.

The North American Mine Ventilation Symposium is organized and led by a coalition of 4 leading partners. Since the first Symposium in 1982, the Underground Ventilation Committee (UVC) has sought to provide mine ventilation engineers and technicians in the underground coal, metal, and industrial mineral mining industry with the latest information and operating practices from the field and promote the exchange of ideas and research in a variety of related areas to include the monitoring of air contaminants, determining fresh air requirements, and producing power efficient ventilation and cooling systems and energy-related topics.
