The Present Status of Geophysics in Canada

Self-potential methods are based on measurements on the surface of voltage distributions caused by natural sub-surface oxidation phenomena. The attempt is made to correlate voltage minima or maxima with the location of mineral materials or geological conditions which may give rise to such naturally produced spontaneous potentials.
