PAYMASTER CONSOLIDATED MINES, LIMITED, began an investigation into the economy and use of detachable bit drill-steel in June, 1937. This investigation h as continued to the present time, and was made necessary by transportation and distribution difficulties that had arisen through the use of standard steel in three widely separated mine areas serviced by a central steel-sharpening shop.
