The Use of the Jameson Cell to Improve Flotation Circuit Design

2018

Mrs Virginia Lawson, Mr Rodrigo Araya

Mineral processing plants are facing an urgent need for more efficient technologies to produce saleable concentrate as the ore bodies are becoming more complex. This complexity typically translates in changes to the configuration of existing flotation circuits to be able to maintain productivity. The Jameson Cell is a high performance flotation machine able to recover mineral particles in a wide range of sizes due to a combination of small bubble size and intense mixing ideal for bubble-particle collisions. This paper presents case studies where the Jameson Cell has been successfully retrofitted in brownfield mineral processing plants transforming the existing flotation circuits into more efficient flowsheets.
