The Vault Project

Vault is the 3rd pit after Portage and Goose to be in production at the Meadowbank Mine, Nunavut. It is a satellite deposit located 7km North-East of the main camp. Vault was originally permitted at the same time as the other pits but was left at the end of the life-of-mine because of the distance involved, its lower grade and the capital required to bring it into production. This presentation tells the story behind the scoping and the execution of this intricate project driven by a tight schedule. With a production deadline set in stone the team only had 18 months and 1 sea lift to get it right.
