After the Development agreement was signed in September 2002, construction commenced in earnest in 2003, and resulted in the first concentrate being shipped in November 2005, 8 months ahead on the original schedule.
This presentation will describe the engineering, procurement, construction, logistics, schedule and labour productivity challenges, which were faced and resolved.
Agreements with the Aboriginal people were in placed with respect to business and job opportunities, as well as high safety, health and environmental standards.
Full production was reached within 3 months of first introducing ore, and the interface between construction and start-up teams will be described.
