Ventilation as a Means to Prevent Silicosis in Ontario Mines

CIM Bulletin, 1942

CLIFFORD S. GIBSON

Insofar as our knowledge goes, silicosis in Ontario mines is caused by the inhalation of finely particulate quartz. It follows, therefore, that removal of dust containing this mineral automatically erases the cause. The achievement of this ideal is the aim of the mine operator. His best tool to this end is ventilation.
