The Whitehorse Mining Initiative (WMI) brought together all of the key stakeholders in Canada's mining industry to develop a framework whereby the industry can meet the challenges that it faces into the 21st century. The WMI Accord, which was signed at the annual Mines Ministers Conference in Victoria, British Columbia, on September 13, 1994, touches all of the important issues that confront the industry, including taxation.
